Biography

Fina Lunes photographerI’ve always liked to start my biography remembering my childhood. It fills me with happiness to remember the smell of fruits and earth. Of the flowers and the field in which I lived and the way I discovered photography in my adolescent days. It was through a Kodak camera that was at home. At that time I began to photograph my friends and everything that was put ahead. I found in photographs the way to communicate with others. Photography became the center of my life and I made the decision that would be my profession. It would be the way I would earn my living.

I studied photography at Elisava Escola Universitaria de Barcelona. My first job as a photographer was at the prestigious clinic of plastic surgery and aesthetics Dr. Planas. At the same time, I opened a portrait photography studio in the town where he lived. At that time my dear daughter Elisabeth, who was then small, always made many photographs. It was a game for both of us and we had a lot of fun! A few years later, I closed the studio and opened another one for advertising and fashion in Barcelona, where I settled when I separated.

In the world of fashion, I started working in corsets and lingerie, for such important companies as Christian Dior and Nina Ricci. These brands opened the doors of the market for me and I ended up working for most brands in the sector such as Chantelle, Bolero, Philippe Matingnon, etc.

I have always thought that this circumstance was decisive to create illuminations, where I feel very comfortable when they are enveloping and delicate. In addition clients such as J. Roca Joyeros, Volkswagen, Editorial Hymsa Edipress, Editorial Planeta, Bóboli, Universal Forum of Cultures of Barcelona 2004, and Advertising Agencies such as DMB & B Communication Group, Scacs Advertising Agency, Tandemm DDB Needham Campmany and Guasch and Lorente Grupo de Comunicación, among others, have entrusted me with the development of their images.

Although my work has basically been developed in Barcelona, I have also worked for clients in the rest of Europe. For 15 years I have photographed the bathroom collections of the German firm Naturana, also for the German sports firm Uhlsport International, among others.

I have a restless and creative spirit, I like to explore different forms of expression and collaborate with other artists. Thus was born the collection of “gifts objects” fruit of the collaboration between the artist Eulàlia Oliver and myself, which have been on sale at the prestigious Ars Hotel in Barcelona.

I like to share my professional baggage through teaching. Since 1991 and for more than 20 years I have taught the specialization course in fashion photography at the IEFC (Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya). From 2004 to 2006 I have also taught at the Faculty of Communication Blanquerna in Barcelona. In 2015 I was invited by the Universidad UTE (Technological University Equinoccial) of Quito Ecuador, during the week of fashion to carry out different workshops and conferences. Currently I teach photography and image classes at IED Istituto Europeo di Design.

I have participated in seminars and talks throughout Spain, my photographs have been published in the press and specialized national and international books such as Art Director’s Index to Photographers, Special Effects Photography, La Fotografia, Visual Magazine, Polaroid International Photography, Creativity, Visatec for Creative Imaging, Vogue Bambini and Marie Claire.

Parallel to my commercial work, I have always developed personal projects, some of which have been exhibited in Barcelona, Athens and Porto Alegre.

My last personal project is the photographic series “La Mirada Atenta: Landscapes from the Inner Smile”; fruit of my approach and happy encounter for years with T’ai Chi Ch’uan, Chi Kun and meditation, which have already become part of my life.

Photography has been and continues to be a good travelling companion. I feel very grateful for having been able to walk and explore the different paths together that have enriched my personal and professional growth.
